Intern - Intergovernmental Affairs

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is seeking an Intern to support the Office of the Executive Secretary in intergovernmental affairs. The six‑month, unpaid internship begins in December 2026 and is based in Bangkok.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Commission in preparing and delivering the annual Commission sessions.
• Organise meetings of the Advisory Committee of Permanent Other Representatives and other intergovernmental gatherings.
• Support the planning and logistical coordination of intergovernmental negotiations and ministerial segments.
• Contribute to website updates, strategic communications, public information, digital outreach and knowledge‑management activities.

Required profile

• Available to work full‑time (37.5 hours per week) on‑site in Bangkok for six months.
• Enthusiastic about UN intergovernmental processes and sustainable development in the Asia‑Pacific region.
