Chief Migration Health Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a senior professional to lead its migration health portfolio in the Country Office. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and working closely with regional health coordinators, the Chief Migration Health Officer will design, implement and manage health assessment programmes that support safe and orderly migration.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and supervise the migration health assessment process to meet the technical requirements of resettlement countries.
• Oversee medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations and tuberculosis (TB) management for migrants.
• Coordinate treatment and follow‑up care for identified health conditions.
• Develop and manage additional health programmes in line with IOM’s strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with governmental, intergovernmental and non‑governmental partners to ensure programme effectiveness.

Required profile

• Relevant professional experience in migration health, public health or clinical services.
• Proven leadership ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex health projects.
• Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs or government health authorities is preferred.
