About the role
The Economic Affairs Internship offers a unique opportunity to support the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Interns will work remotely and/or on‑site in Bangkok for a period of three to six months, contributing to research, capacity‑building and event organization.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on monetary policy, fiscal policy, tax cooperation, public finance governance and econometric evaluation.
- Identify short‑ to medium‑term risks to sustainable development in the Asia‑Pacific region.
- Prepare tables, graphs and inputs for ESCAP publications such as the Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific.
- Support technical consultations, workshops and capacity‑building activities on sustainable and green finance, including the design of e‑learning materials.
- Research sustainable financing instruments such as green bonds, blended finance, digital finance and integrated national financing frameworks.
Required profile
- Ability to undertake research and analysis in macroeconomic and financing for development topics.
Required skills
- Econometric analysis
What we offer
- Unpaid internship lasting three to six months.
- 35 hours per week, five days a week.
- Experience working with UN experts and exposure to regional policy dialogues.
