Programme Officer

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is seeking a Programme Officer to support the three‑year Energy Transition for Green Growth and Prosperity programme. Based in Bangkok, the role reports to the Chief of the Financing for Development Section and works closely with the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division, the Energy Division, and a high‑level advisory group.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Energy Transition for Green Growth and Prosperity programme, monitoring progress and proposing corrective actions.
• Coordinate technical assistance and analysis for member states, planning and facilitating workshops and interactive sessions.
• Provide secretariat and coordination support to a high‑level advisory group of experts and donors.
• Research, analyse and present information from diverse sources, preparing background papers, report sections and inputs to publications.
• Assist in policy development, including review and analysis of trends, preparation of evaluations and other research activities.
• Undertake survey initiatives, design data‑collection tools, analyse responses and prepare conclusions.

Required profile

• Experience in monitoring and analysing programme development and implementation.
• Experience coordinating workshops, technical assistance and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to prepare written outputs such as background papers, analytical reports and study sections.
