Consultant – Climate Change & Human Mobility Training Package (Thailand)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a consultant to design, develop, pilot, validate and finalise a Climate Change and Human Mobility Training Manual tailored for Thailand. The consultant will work from home in Bangkok, travelling within Thailand as needed, and will produce a publication‑ready training package that can be used by government, practitioners and civil society.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing literature, policies, training materials and project resources to synthesize evidence into a coherent training manual.
• Identify and justify primary target audiences and propose clear learning objectives and outcomes.
• Develop the overall structure, module format and training approach, including facilitator guide, presentation slides and practical tools.
• Propose methodologies for translating technical evidence into user‑friendly training content.
• Prepare a detailed workplan covering development, review, validation and finalisation phases.
• Produce a publication‑ready manual of 50‑80 pages, accompanied by annexes, facilitator guide and training materials.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in social sciences, migration studies, environmental studies, development studies or a related field.
• Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in training design, capacity‑building or research related to climate change, migration or development.
• Multidisciplinary background combining social sciences, climate change, migration and public policy is an advantage.
