Consultant – Competency‑Based Training for RAC Servicing Sector

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking an experienced consultant to design and deliver competency‑based training for the refrigeration and air‑conditioning (RAC) servicing sector across Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The assignment is home‑based and will run for approximately three months.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive 3‑day training curriculum and accompanying materials on competency‑based assessment of good servicing practices.
• Conduct five separate training workshops—one in each target country—covering assessment methodology, safety, leakage prevention and energy efficiency.
• Prepare a detailed workshop report for each country, documenting outcomes and recommendations.
• Coordinate with UNEP OzonAction regional coordinators and the Head of OzonAction for guidance and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and delivering training programmes, preferably in the RAC sector.
• Familiarity with competency‑based assessment approaches and environmental compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration and air‑conditioning servicing practices, including safety and energy‑efficiency considerations.
• Ability to work independently, manage timelines and produce high‑quality documentation.
