About the role
The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is seeking a consultant to support a project that enhances policymakers’ understanding of climate‑smart trade policies and nature‑based solutions. The consultant will report to the Economic Affairs Officer of the Trade Policy and Facilitation Section.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze trade agreements and non‑tariff measures to identify opportunities for climate‑smart policies.
- Research tariffs on environmental goods and assess their impact on nature‑based solutions.
- Examine legislative frameworks related to illegal timber trade and agricultural subsidies.
- Prepare electronic deliverables (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with ESCAP staff and provide regular progress updates.
