Drug Control Specialist Intern

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a motivated intern to support the Mekong Memorandum of Understanding on Drug Control. Based in Bangkok, the intern will assist the Regional Coordinator in organising activities, preparing documents, and contributing to drug‑control analysis across the Greater Mekong Subregion.

Key responsibilities

• Draft concept notes, invitation letters and related correspondence in line with UNODC standards.
• Provide English‑Chinese translation and interpretation for documents and communications.
• Prepare presentations, meeting documents and take verbatim or summary minutes for workshops and technical meetings.
• Design, administer and summarise evaluation forms for capacity‑building events.
• Write activity reports, narrative summaries and recommendations for donors.
• Develop web stories, social‑media posts and advocacy materials.
• Conduct research and literature reviews on drug‑control trends, legislation and regional responses.
• Collect daily drug seizure data, compile it and contribute to monthly trend analysis reports.
• Offer general administrative and programmatic support to the Regional Office.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate programme (second university degree) or the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Computer literate with ability to use standard office software.

Required skills
