Engineering Manager – Travel FX App

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team building and scaling a travel‑focused foreign‑exchange application used by millions across Southeast Asia. The role combines technical leadership with people management to deliver reliable, fast, and innovative products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineers across frontend, backend, and full‑stack development.
• Own engineering delivery for major product areas, ensuring rapid shipping without compromising reliability.
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical execution.
• Define architecture and make decisions on APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure and customer‑facing systems.
• Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, observability, security and production reliability.
• Mentor engineers through feedback, coaching and performance management.
• Improve processes, tooling and automation to increase speed and scale.
• Monitor production outcomes, resolve incidents and ensure root‑cause remediation.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience delivering production systems.
• Proven experience leading or managing software engineers and owning delivery.
• Deep technical knowledge of backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to make sound architecture trade‑offs while balancing speed, scalability and maintainability.
• Excellent people leadership, coaching, and performance‑management skills.
• Product sense to connect engineering decisions to customer and business outcomes.
