Freelance Data Engineer

About the role

aCommerce is seeking a Data Engineer to build, optimize and maintain robust data pipelines and design meaningful data models for its Data Platform. The role involves working with a cloud‑based Big Data Platform to ingest structured and unstructured marketplace data and collaborating with product and application teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain data pipelines that ingest data from multiple marketplaces into the Data Platform.
• Continuously improve solutions, tools and processes by evaluating new ideas.
• Collaborate with IT teams such as Architecture, DevOps and Business Analysts to ensure high‑quality software delivery.
• Coach fellow associate data engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design, with experience handling large data volumes.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Understanding of fundamental design principles for data‑oriented applications.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
