Head of Finance & IT

About the role

The Head of Finance & IT is a permanent member of the Senior Management Team of Save the Children (Thailand) Foundation (SCT) in Bangkok, reporting to the Executive Director. The post covers 100% of the foundation's financial management, with five staff reporting directly (one Finance Manager, one Finance Coordinator, one Senior Finance Officer and two Finance Officers) and two Finance Assistants reporting indirectly. The role ensures accurate budgeting, cash flows, financial controls, recording, monitoring and reporting for emergency and development programming, supports programme staff and partners financially, and helps build a secure, sustainable and productive organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day finance operations using Agresso accounting software, manage bank and cash operations, cash flow forecasting, petty cash and month-end processes, and ensure payments comply with SC financial guidelines and donors.
• Pay staff salaries and benefits correctly, meet tax obligations, and provide monthly budget variance analysis and monthly financial reviews with reconciled control accounts.
• Prepare quarterly effort reports, reconcile timesheets with finance system charges, investigate major variances and coordinate control reports and audits.
• Enforce the fraud policy, update financial risk assessments and action plans, and ensure compliance with Save the Children financial management standards and operating procedures.
• Manage FX exposure and gains/losses, oversee fund requests to Centre Treasury, and support the interest policy.
• Develop and run management reports, KPI dashboards, annual accounts and tax statements, and lead twice-yearly budget plans and forecasts.
• Charge costs to awards correctly, support donor financial conditions, and help the Executive Director with resource allocation and donor agreement monitoring.
• Support fundraising finance compliance and work with the fundraising team to achieve targets.
