Project Support – Climate‑Resilient & Inclusive Social Protection

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) seeks a consultant to provide project support for its Climate‑Resilient and Inclusive Social Protection initiative. Based in Bangkok, the role will contribute to knowledge production, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement across five beneficiary countries.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and background research to support national and regional knowledge products.
• Collect and collate case studies on social protection and climate change in the Asia‑Pacific region.
• Assist with data analysis and preparation of household data sets for project tools.
• Support outreach, communication, and stakeholder‑engagement activities.
• Coordinate logistics and substantive preparations for national consultations, the CRISP Regional Partners Meeting, and the Committee on Social Development.
• Facilitate organization of workshops and meetings, and prepare related documentation and communication materials.
• Maintain project stakeholder databases and liaise with national and regional counterparts.
• Help communicate project achievements and deliverables, and provide ad‑hoc support as needed.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., social sciences, development studies, economics, or related field).
• Experience in research, data handling, and preparation of knowledge products.
• Familiarity with social protection systems and climate‑change issues in the Asia‑Pacific context.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder events.
