Senior Process Engineer

About the role

The Central Team Senior Process Engineer leads the development of new processes, products, capabilities and technology platforms, with an emphasis on robust science, data capture and data analysis. The role works with other Central R&D functions and cross-functional teams to identify process hazards, run feasibility analyses and take projects from framing to handover, while providing training and leading small teams across bench-top, pilot plant and manufacturing settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead test plan development, experimental setup, test execution and data analysis to quantify key process parameters and fundamental mechanisms at pilot and factory scales.
• Deliver scalable process specifications with Product Development and Supply Engineering to meet product targets, quality and food safety goals.
• Evaluate innovative processing options based on product requirements, considering technical and economic feasibility.
• Provide technical support to Product Development, Quality and Supply on new or existing processes.
• Build and maintain networks within Technology, Product Implementation, Packaging, Engineering and Quality teams.
• Turn technology ideas into visual and physical models and working prototypes.
• Collaborate with the intellectual property team to protect new technologies.
• Apply lean thinking and value-added engineering.
• Help manage scale-up risk and introduce technology into the supply chain.
• Develop and manage capital projects to install factory-scalable equipment in global innovation centres.
