Statistics Division Internship (UN ESCAP)

About the role

The Statistics Division of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is offering a three‑month unpaid internship, with the possibility of extension to six months. The role can be performed remotely or at the Bangkok duty station and provides hands‑on experience in statistical data management and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in publishing and disseminating the annual Asia‑Pacific SDG Progress Report via ESCAP’s website, exploring AI tools to enhance user experience.
• Support the visualization and clear communication of SDG data for the region.
• Help improve data‑management procedures and apply statistical techniques to SDG datasets.
• Draft research papers, blog posts, and technical notes as needed.
• Participate in division meetings and contribute to team tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
• Availability for full‑time work (35 hours/week) from 1 May 2026 to 31 July 2026.
• Interest in data analysis, SDG monitoring, and international statistical activities.
