About the role

Join Aurecon’s Buildings business as a Technical Director – Mechanical, leading the delivery of complex multidisciplinary building projects across commercial, industrial and mission‑critical sectors. You will shape technical strategy, mentor engineers and drive innovative, sustainable solutions for high‑profile clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of major multidisciplinary building projects from concept through construction and close‑out.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on mechanical building services for commercial, industrial and mission‑critical facilities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, ICT, architecture) to achieve integrated design outcomes.
• Ensure designs comply with client requirements, industry best practice, codes and regulatory standards.
• Drive innovation through BIM, digital engineering and data‑driven solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Minimum 15 years of experience delivering building services projects, including data centres, mission‑critical or high‑rise buildings.
• Current Professional Mechanical Engineer registration (Level 2 or equivalent).
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams across all project phases.
• Strong client‑facing and stakeholder management skills.
