Drug Control Intern

About the role

The Drug Control Intern will support the Mekong MOU Secretariat within the UNODC Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Working in Bangkok, the intern will assist in organizing activities, preparing documents, and conducting research related to drug control initiatives in the Greater Mekong Subregion.

Key responsibilities

• Draft concept notes and invitations for planned activities.
• Translate documents between English and Chinese.
• Assist in preparing presentations, meeting minutes, and other documentation.
• Summarize evaluation and feedback forms.
• Write activity reports with recommendations.
• Create web stories and advocacy materials.
• Conduct research on drug‑control topics.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Regional Office.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s programme.
• Computer literate in standard software applications.
• Strong interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter.
• Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Field of study related to drug control, public policy, international relations, or a similar area.

What we offer

• Unpaid 6‑month internship, full‑time (40 hours/week).
