Senior Livelihood Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Senior Livelihood Officer to lead livelihood programming for displaced populations along the Thailand‑Myanmar border. Reporting to the Protection and Empowerment Program manager, you will help refugees and other crisis‑affected people build self‑reliance and plan for the future.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor livelihood activities that promote economic wellbeing and self‑sufficiency.
• Coordinate legal, medical and psychosocial services to deliver integrated protection assistance.
• Facilitate employability and life‑skill development programmes for camp residents.
• Ensure gender equality, diversity and inclusion are mainstreamed across all interventions.
• Collect and analyse data to support evidence‑based decision‑making and advocacy.
• Collaborate with the Royal Thai Government, local civil society and other partners to strengthen climate resilience and community safety.

Required profile

• University degree in development studies, social sciences, economics or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience managing livelihood programmes in humanitarian or refugee contexts.
• Proven experience working with displaced populations in Thailand, Myanmar or similar settings.
• Strong analytical, coordination and reporting skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Thai or Myanmar languages is an asset.
