Senior Livelihood Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Senior Livelihood Officer to lead livelihood programming for displaced populations along the Thailand‑Myanmar border. Reporting to the Protection and Empowerment Program manager, you will help design and implement activities that promote self‑reliance, employability and future‑planning for refugees and host‑community members.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee livelihood interventions, including vocational training, income‑generation projects and market linkage activities.
• Coordinate multi‑sectoral services (legal, medical, psychosocial) to ensure integrated protection and empowerment.
• Monitor program performance, collect data, and produce evidence‑based reports for advocacy and decision‑making.
• Collaborate with local NGOs, government agencies and community leaders to strengthen climate‑resilience and economic opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to field staff and partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in livelihood or economic empowerment programming in humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with displaced populations, refugees and host communities.
• Strong understanding of gender equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
