Senior GL Accountant – Finance Specialist

About the role

The Senior Specialist – GL Accountant manages the General Ledger, prepares and posts journal vouchers, reconciles balance‑sheet accounts and supports month‑end and year‑end closing, ensuring financial records are accurate and compliant with internal policies and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for timely month‑end closing.
• Perform account reconciliations for assigned GL accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Review and validate accounting transactions for proper classification and documentation.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and audit schedules.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to obtain supporting documents.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards (IFRS, local GAAP).
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation and analysis.
• Continuously improve and streamline GL processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in GL accounting or related roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
