About the role
The Sustainable Urban Development Section of ESCAP is looking for an Urban Climate Resilience Intern to support its work on sustainable urban development and climate‑resilient cities across Asia and the Pacific. The position is based in Bangkok, Thailand and lasts for 4‑6 months.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in organizing and documenting meetings, workshops and stakeholder consultations on urban climate resilience, including drafting agendas, concept notes, presentations and summary reports (≈35%).
- Support programme and project coordination for urban heat resilience initiatives by maintaining tracking tools, managing documentation, monitoring timelines and liaising with consultants and partners (≈30%).
- Conduct research and prepare knowledge‑management materials such as case studies, briefing notes and background documents on urban climate resilience, nature‑based solutions and sustainable urban planning (≈20%).
- Contribute to communications and outreach by drafting website and social‑media content, creating visual materials, updating webpages and organising photo and knowledge assets (≈15%).
Required profile
- Must meet the eligibility criteria of the United Nations Internship Programme.
- Available to work full‑time (35 hours per week) on‑site in Bangkok for a minimum of four months.
