Individual Contractor – GIS and Data Analysis for Risk & Resilience Portal

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) seeks an Individual Contractor to provide data processing and GIS‑based analytical support for its Risk and Resilience Portal. The contractor will create and transform storyboards that illustrate food and energy risk hotspots across pilot countries and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop draft storyboards in PowerPoint for pilot countries (Bhutan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Armenia) using country‑level and sector‑level analysis from the Risk and Resilience Portal.
• Collaborate with a web developer to convert PowerPoint narratives into interactive storyboards for the portal.
• Create a regional storyboard that visualises risk hotspots for food and energy systems across Asia‑Pacific.
• Support the preparation of materials for the project’s regional meeting.
• Coordinate CARA video production, storyboard development, and technical report writing.
• Transform storyboard narratives into interactive portal products and prepare related meeting materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data processing and GIS analysis.
• Strong ability to design visual storyboards and translate them into interactive digital formats.
• Excellent written communication skills for drafting technical reports and meeting materials.
