SDG Policy AI Chatbot Development Intern

About the role

The United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is seeking a motivated intern to support the development of an AI‑driven chatbot focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) policy. This full‑time, unpaid position is based in Bangkok for a period of five months.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain Python code for chatbot functionalities.
• Integrate AI services via APIs and use Copilot Studio for development.
• Deploy, benchmark, and optimise the application.
• Commit code to Git repositories and follow version‑control best practices.
• Participate in weekly sprint meetings and contribute to team discussions.
• Prepare documentation, demos, and present the application to audiences.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong interest in United Nations work and commitment to its charter.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with culturally diverse teams.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with API integration.
• Proficiency with Git version control.
• Familiarity with Copilot Studio or similar AI‑assisted coding tools.
