AV Archives & Metadata Coordinator

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) seeks an AV Archives & Metadata Coordinator to lead the cleaning, enhancement, and organization of its audio‑visual collections. This consulting position will ensure that digitized videos and photos are accurately described, searchable, and stored according to ESCAP’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and enhance metadata for at least 500 digitized videos, including description, transcription, and date standardization.
• Rename incoming photo and video assets to meet naming conventions and ingest them into the Photo and Video databases.
• Update and maintain the AV Project SharePoint site, removing outdated files and ensuring proper archiving.
• Map digitized videos on OneDrive to physical assets using unique identifiers.
• Upscale low‑resolution photos, remove redundant files, and test migration of photo metadata to an online location.
• Run checksum verification on video and photo collections and draft a systematic data‑integrity plan.
• Coordinate semi‑annual AV asset reviews for the Communications team.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing audio‑visual archives and metadata.
• Familiarity with digital asset management workflows and standards.
• Ability to work independently on a consultancy basis and meet defined deadlines.
