Category Development Marketer

About the role

3M is seeking a Category Development Marketer who combines strong consumer insight with deep knowledge of distribution channels. The role will own the full category portfolio, driving growth through strategic marketing initiatives that enhance penetration and relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category marketing strategies based on consumer behavior insights and market trends.
• Lead category planning, mix optimization, pricing, and promotional activities to maximize sales and profitability.
• Collaborate with supply chain, shopper marketing, and sales teams to ensure product availability, optimal placement, and strong category presence across channels.
• Analyze category performance, consumer trends, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and create actionable plans.
• Drive category innovation and new product introductions with a consumer‑centric focus.
• Work cross‑functionally to align category strategies with overall business goals and channel objectives.
• Partner with agencies and consumer experience teams to communicate product propositions and key messaging effectively.
• Maintain portfolio health by managing pricing, gross margin, and profitable mix.

Required profile

• MBA or PGDM with a specialization in Marketing, or equivalent qualification.
• Strong consumer‑insight orientation and ability to translate insights into strategy.
• Deep understanding of distribution channels and retail environments.
• Proven analytical skills to assess performance data and market trends.
• Experience collaborating across supply chain, sales, and marketing functions.
