Economics and Data Management Intern

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator System in Bangkok is seeking two interns to support economics and data management activities for the UN Resident Coordinator Office covering the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. This full‑time, hybrid internship offers hands‑on experience in research, data handling, and UN reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research and contribute to reports on sustainable agriculture, health, climate action, disaster risk management, and inclusion of youth, gender and disability.
• Develop and update databases and other information‑management tools.
• Assist the UN Country Team and Resident Coordinator Office in meeting annual monitoring and reporting requirements via the UNINFO platform.
• Participate in capacity‑building sessions, trainings and meetings, preparing briefing materials as needed.
• Provide ad‑hoc support for additional tasks assigned by the RCO.

Required profile

• Strong research, data analysis and data management abilities with familiarity in sustainable development topics.
• Excellent written English drafting skills and ability to produce high‑quality thematic contributions.
• Knowledge of the UN system and its mandate is an asset.
• Experience or familiarity with the geopolitical context of North East Asia, especially the Korean Peninsula, is a plus.
• Currently enrolled in or having completed a graduate program, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
