Assistant Manager EHS

About the role

The Assistant Manager – EHS will support BASF’s Bangkok site in maintaining and advancing its Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management system. The role combines system implementation, stakeholder coordination, and safety oversight across production, transportation, and emergency response functions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gap analyses and implement new EHS regulations; maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) and related documentation.
• Define training needs, coordinate and deliver EHS training, and introduce country‑specific EHS technical assistance.
• Benchmark site EHS performance, propose improvement measures, and manage service catalogues with business units.
• Oversee Transportation & Distribution Safety, act as Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, and perform supplier and carrier safety assessments.
• Serve as Country Emergency Expert, develop emergency response plans, and conduct fire‑prevention assessments.
• Act as Country/Local Security Manager, perform security risk assessments, and lead incident investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Science, Engineering, Production, Chemical Engineering or a related field (Master’s/PhD advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production, engineering or EHS roles.
• Proven ability to work with site management, business units and external industry groups.
