Business Unit Head - Rare Disease

About the role

AstraZeneca is looking for a Business Unit Head for its Rare Disease business unit. The role leads the sales and marketing teams and drives the commercial performance of the brands within a defined geography.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the sales and marketing teams, including performance management, talent management and career development.
• Lead activities across brands, defining, designing, executing and measuring marketing strategies and tactics to meet brand objectives.
• Own sales execution within the assigned geography.
• Ensure budgetary compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or MBA in a relevant field.
• 7-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in rare diseases, oncology, specialty care or related fields.
• At least 5 years of experience in marketing and/or promotional activities.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare and/or managed markets.
• Proven track record of success in healthcare business management and commercial performance.

Required skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage, develop and lead teams.
• Experience in sales and/or sales leadership.
• Comprehensive understanding of the local and global healthcare environment.
