Chemist – Lab Support for Agrochemical Business

About the role

We are looking for a Chemist to provide laboratory support for BASF's Care Chemicals business in the ASEAN region. The role focuses on promoting BASF raw materials such as surfactants, chelates and polymers within agro‑chemical markets, while developing new experimental methods and supporting customers with technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform lab activities including evaluation of new technologies and promotion of existing agro‑chemical ingredient portfolios.
• Develop and optimise experimental methods for emulsions, solutions and dispersions.
• Translate customer feedback into laboratory solutions and communicate results under supervisor guidance.
• Prepare promotional material for new R&D products.
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment following ISO 9001, GMP, Halal, RSPO and energy‑management standards.
• Collaborate with sub‑regional sales, regional technical teams and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, industrial & applied chemistry, physical chemistry or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience.
• Strong ability to understand customer needs and work in multicultural teams.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of agro‑chemical formulations is a plus.
