Communications & Digital Outreach Intern

About the role

The Communications and Digital Outreach Intern will support the Communications and Knowledge Management Section in raising the visibility of ESCAP’s work through strategic communications, digital outreach and multimedia production. The role is full‑time, on‑site in Bangkok for a period of 3 to 6 months.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and edit press releases, newsletters, brochures, presentations and feature stories.
• Produce podcasts, social media posts and multimedia content for ESCAP’s channels, including infographics, motion graphics, short videos and reels.
• Assist with photography and video production, from scripting and story‑boarding to filming and post‑production editing.
• Support the management of ESCAP’s multimedia database and audiovisual assets.
• Help organise and execute public events and commemorations, and conduct background research for public information materials.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, in a field related to communications, media or digital outreach.
• Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of French or another UN language is an advantage.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Bangkok for 3‑6 months.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Experience using social media platforms for professional communication.
• Competence in multimedia production tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut and Canva.
