Strategic Communications & Advocacy Intern (UN Resident Coordinator)

About the role

This six‑month, unpaid, full‑time internship is based in the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand. Interns work 35 hours per week over five days and are expected to work from the office. The role supports the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, working with the Communications Officer to develop and deliver public information activities that showcase the work of the UN Country Team and Thailand’s sustainable development priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare press releases, feature stories, and social media captions in English and Thai.
• Produce graphics, videos, reels, infographics and other digital content for UN Thailand platforms.
• Support integrated visibility and joint communications planning with UN agencies and partners across digital platforms, media and in‑person events.
• Monitor digital platforms, media coverage and online discussion using AI‑enabled tools and analytics to inform communications planning.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s programme.
• Native fluency in Thai and strong written English; ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
• Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter ideals.

Required skills

• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.).
• Canva and Capcut for graphic design and video editing.
• Social media platforms management (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
• AI‑enabled analytics and social listening tools for performance tracking.
