Engineer Supplier Quality

About the role

HARMAN is hiring an Engineer Supplier Quality for its Thailand plant in Chonburi. The role covers incoming inspection, management of the supply base, supplier quality tracking metrics and support of the manufacturing floor on supplier-related quality issues, working with suppliers and HARMAN personnel from PPAP through to production support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage plant quality assurance of incoming parts, including mechanical, electronics, outsourced PCBA and pass-through parts at the Thailand plant.
• Manage the plant supplier quality assurance engineer and oversee IQC (Incoming Quality Check) and CMM measurement.
• Lead supplier quality problem solving using tools such as A3, 8D, DMN, CS and SQIP, and train and coach SQA engineers.
• Optimize the IQC and supplier DMN process and ensure compliance with TS and customer requests.
• Use data-driven measurements and statistical methods to drive supplier improvements and corrective actions, and work with plant PE/QE/Production on root cause studies.
• Perform supplier site audits, initiate improvement plans or hold shipments when supplier performance drops, and handle cost recovery from suppliers.
• Take part in project trial runs, component PPAP approvals, component safe launch plans and improve supplier quality procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing supplier quality engineering with electromechanical and electrical components.
• Direct experience with suppliers; minor travel around China for supplier support and audits.
• Preferred certifications: ASQ, CQE and CQA.
