HR Manager – Site HR, Employee Relations and Labor Compliance

About the role

BASF (Thai) Ltd., which has operated in Thailand for more than 50 years with three production sites in Samutprakarn, Chonburi and Rayong, is hiring a permanent HR Manager for its Chonburi site. The role covers site HR leadership, employee relations, labor relations, workforce advisory and compliance, and coordination with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR partner for the site, advising management on workforce planning, organization changes, performance, staffing, development and employee exits, and monitoring headcount and turnover.
• Serve as the HR focal point for employee relations and workforce advisory, handling day-to-day employee relations matters and employee communication and engagement activities such as surveys and meetings.
• Act as the HR owner for labor-related matters, engage with local authorities, support inspections and audits, and monitor compliance with national, provincial, municipal and industrial-estate requirements.
• Coordinate site recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training delivery and records, performance management, welfare and benefits administration, and maintain HR records.
• Lead and coach the assigned team and service providers, and collaborate with HR, Legal, EHS, site operations, finance and business functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Political Science, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 7 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in employee relations, labor relations, site HR or an HR generalist role in manufacturing or chemicals.
• Proven experience in employee relations, labor relations and workforce advisory, and in handling sensitive workforce issues.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments with blue-collar and white-collar employees; experience supporting multiple sites or legal entities is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications required by local regulations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Thai labor law, employment regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and to escalate sensitive matters appropriately.
