Manager, Environmental Health & Safety

About the role

Western Digital is recruiting a full-time Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) in Bang Pa-in, Thailand. The role ensures compliance with local, customer and regulatory obligations, maintains EHS policies and promotes a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain an integrated management system covering ISO 45001, ISO 14001, RBA and PSM, and keep EHS policies, programs and procedures up to date.
• Oversee environmental sustainability initiatives such as waste management and pollution prevention.
• Provide EHS training and education to employees and management.
• Carry out regular EHS audits and inspections and prepare reports for management and regulators.
• Work with operations, maintenance, engineering and human resources to embed EHS practices in daily work.
• Manage the EHS budget and identify cost-effective solutions for initiatives and equipment.
• Review and approve the audit schedule for ISO 14001, ISO 45001, RBA, PSM and other standards.
• Act as incident commander in emergencies under the emergency response plan and business continuity plan, and approve contractor permits to work and stop-work orders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or Engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a management position in a multinational manufacturing company.
• Preferred: Professional Safety Officer certificate, EHS experience in Southeast Asia, and knowledge of local EHS laws, RBA and regulations.

Required skills

• Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, RBA, PSM and ISO 22301.
• Hazardous substance control, GHG calculations per ISO 14064-1 and environmental controls per DIW requirements.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
• Strong written and verbal communication, listening and teamwork skills.
