Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Specialist - Thailand

About the role

Jacobs Douwe Egberts (part of JDE Peet's, now Keurig Dr Pepper) is looking for a Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Specialist based in Bangkok. The role covers regulatory monitoring, compliance, submissions and training for the Thai market, working closely with R&D, Quality, Packaging, Marketing and other functions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor new and updated Thailand regulatory requirements, scientific developments and industry trends, and communicate changes to internal stakeholders
• Prepare, review and issue labelling specifications for local and export markets, and conduct label compliance reviews covering legal designations, claims, ingredients and nutrition data
• Ensure proper implementation of graphic and techno-legal elements via CopyDeck and Syncforce
• Provide compositional and regulatory guidance to R&D, including acceptable ingredients and legal limits
• Review and approve raw materials, product specifications, recipes, allergens, nutrition data and promotional materials
• Support Supply Chain and Quality teams with documents for product registrations, renewals, variations and regulatory queries under Thailand requirements
• Deliver training and educational materials to strengthen regulatory understanding and compliance culture
• Collaborate with R&D, Packaging, D2P, Quality & Food Safety, Marketing, Legal and the regional team on multi-market projects

Required profile

• University graduate in Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Science or equivalent
• At least 2 years' experience in Regulatory Affairs within the Thai food industry, preferably coffee and tea
• Thorough understanding of Thai regulatory affairs requirements and food legislation
• Good articulation and networking with Thai industry associations, scientific institutions and government authorities

Required skills

• Nutrition science and food safety knowledge
• Understanding of product development, ingredients, manufacturing and business processes
• Ability to manage multiple time-constrained tasks and projects, meeting tight deadlines
• Excellent written and spoken English and Thai, with multilingual ability
• System acumen and IT skills
