Sustainable Development Intern

About the role
The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is seeking a motivated Sustainable Development Intern to support the Sustainable Development and Countries in Special Situations Section (SDCSS). This unpaid, full‑time position runs for six months starting September 2026 and offers hands‑on experience with the Asia‑Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development and the follow‑up processes of the 2030 Agenda.
Key responsibilities
- Provide logistical and coordination support for meetings and events, especially the Asia‑Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development.
- Assist with registration, presentation setup, and on‑site support during intergovernmental meetings.
- Prepare briefing materials and coordinate with speakers, moderators, youth representatives, civil society and partner organisations.
- Monitor and engage online communities, supporting stakeholder outreach and youth engagement activities.
- Support documentation, reporting, and knowledge‑management tasks for trainings, capacity‑building events, and the Follow‑up and Review of the 2030 Agenda.
Required profile
- Willingness to work full‑time (35 hours per week) for a six‑month period.
- Strong interest in sustainable development, international cooperation, and UN processes.
- Ability to work under supervision, collaborate with a dynamic team, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
