Water Infrastructure Due Diligence Expert - Data Centre

About the role

A leading consulting firm is supporting a client that is considering acquiring or securing land from a listed entity for a new data centre in Thailand. The client needs technical due diligence on the proposed water supply before proceeding. This is an 8-week, immediate-start, remote assignment focused on validating the availability, reliability and suitability of the water supply for data centre operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess the proposed water supply plan for the data centre site.
• Evaluate the availability and reliability of the water resources needed for data centre operations.
• Review the proposed water supply infrastructure, including connection arrangements, capacity and infrastructure requirements.
• Validate the supporting evidence and assumptions provided by the land-owning entity.
• Assess the suitability of the water supply for the anticipated operational requirements.
• Identify risks related to water availability, supply reliability, infrastructure readiness and local regulatory or utility requirements.
• Identify information gaps and areas needing further validation or clarification.
• Deliver a water feasibility assessment with clear recommendations on key risks, assumptions and outstanding diligence requirements.

Required profile

• Approximately 15+ years of experience in water infrastructure, water supply systems, water treatment, cooling water systems or utility-interface delivery.
• Strong experience in technical due diligence, feasibility assessments or infrastructure project evaluation.
• Direct Thailand project experience and familiarity with local water infrastructure, utility processes and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to assess technical documentation, validate water supply assumptions and identify potential risks.
• Experience supporting data centres or other water-intensive infrastructure projects is highly relevant; a former water utility engineer, owner's engineer or water infrastructure consultant is a strong fit.
