Asia Representative – Business Development & Donor Relations

About the role

People in Need is looking for a highly connected, entrepreneurial and strategic Asia Representative to lead the expansion of our engagement with institutional donors, foundations, philanthropies and influential stakeholders across Asia and the Pacific. Based in Bangkok, you will act as the primary business development and external relations lead for the region, driving partnerships that support our humanitarian and development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with institutional donors, foundations and high‑profile philanthropies throughout Asia and the Pacific.
• Develop and implement a regional donor‑engagement strategy aligned with People in Need’s mission and objectives.
• Lead proposal development, negotiation and contract management for multi‑year funding agreements.
• Represent the organization at regional conferences, donor forums and high‑level networking events.
• Collaborate with program teams to ensure donor requirements are integrated into project design and delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising or business development within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven track record of securing large‑scale funding from institutional donors in Asia.
• Strong understanding of the regional donor landscape and regulatory environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English; additional Asian language is a plus.
