Coordination Officer

About the role

The Coordination Officer will support UNEP's Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in implementing the Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia (EANET) work programme. Based in Bangkok, the role involves ensuring high‑quality programme delivery, fostering partnerships, and providing policy guidance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of the approved EANET work programme, ensuring quality of outputs and documentation.
• Facilitate partnerships with national focal points, network centres, and other regional actors.
• Organise meetings of EANET institutional structures (Joint Group, Standing Advisory Committee, Working Group) and manage related documentation.
• Maintain liaison with government agencies, institutions, and partners to support active participation in regional and global initiatives.
• Provide policy advice to integrate EANET issues into UNEP’s broader programme of work.
• Develop the annual work programme and budget in collaboration with national focal points and network centres.
• Lead fundraising activities and assist participating countries in mobilising resources.

Required profile

• Experience in programme coordination or project management within an environmental or international development context.
• Strong understanding of regional environmental issues, especially acid deposition and air pollution.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior UNEP officials and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
