Economic Affairs Intern

About the role
The Economic Affairs Intern will support the Section on Sustainable Development and Countries in Special Situations at ESCAP in Bangkok. This unpaid, full‑time internship lasts 4‑6 months and offers hands‑on experience in policy research, data analysis and the coordination of high‑level intergovernmental meetings.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews, collect and analyse data, and draft inputs for the Asia‑Pacific Countries with Special Needs Development Report 2027 and related policy papers.
- Support the preparation of analytical products for workshops and capacity‑building events.
- Assist in the logistical and organisational coordination of expert group meetings, workshops and the Asia‑Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development.
- Collaborate with team members on day‑to‑day tasks and provide ad‑hoc support as required.
Required profile
- Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme, a Master’s programme, a PhD programme, or a recent graduate (within one year of graduation).
- Strong interest in sustainable development, economic policy and international cooperation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
