About the role
The Economic Affairs Internship supports the Trade, Investment and Innovation Division’s Trade Policy and Facilitation Section in Bangkok. Interns will assist with research, analysis and the organization of capacity‑building activities for policymakers across the Asia‑Pacific region.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on trade policy, investment and trade facilitation issues.
- Help design and deliver training, workshops and capacity‑building events for policymakers.
- Support the planning and execution of regional policy dialogues, meetings, forums and other events.
- Assist staff in preparing briefing notes, reports and presentation materials.
Required profile
- Current studies or background in economics, law, international affairs, public policy or related fields.
- Strong interest in trade policy and development issues in the Asia‑Pacific region.
- Candidates from Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries or Small Island Developing States are especially encouraged to apply.
Required skills
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
What we offer
- Unpaid, full‑time internship (35 hours/week) for 2–6 months.
- Opportunity to work onsite in Bangkok, remotely, or in a hybrid arrangement.
- Experience within a United Nations agency and exposure to regional trade policy work.
