Internship – Statistics Division, Population & Social Statistics

About the role

This unpaid, full‑time internship is based in the Population and Social Statistics Section of the ESCAP Statistics Division in Bangkok. Interns will support a range of statistical programmes and capacity‑building activities across the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with gender statistics, population and housing census, migration, displacement, statelessness, disability, population registers and the regional Civil Registration and Vital Statistics initiative.
• Conduct literature reviews on statistical frameworks, indicators, case studies and country practices.
• Contribute to drafting background papers, presentations, blogs and technical documents.
• Support organization and servicing of meetings, expert group sessions, seminars, trainings and workshops.
• Provide assistance for capacity‑building activities for countries in the region.
• Help with communication activities such as newsletters, website content and online platforms.
• Perform other related duties as required.
