Lead Engineer - AI-Native Email App

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to own the technical design and delivery of our AI‑native email application. This hands‑on leadership role bridges architecture and implementation, ensuring high‑quality, scalable products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute major product features across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure.
• Write, review, and debug code; prototype solutions and resolve production incidents.
• Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers, raise code quality standards, and improve tooling and automation.
• Collaborate with product, design and AI teams to ship high‑impact features quickly.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with proven delivery of production systems.
• Experience leading large engineering projects or providing technical leadership.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Comfort working in a fast‑moving, ambiguous, distributed environment.
