Lead Engineer - AI Payments App

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer to own the technical design and delivery of our AI‑powered payments application. This hands‑on leadership position requires you to move fluidly between high‑level architecture and detailed implementation while mentoring a distributed engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure.
• Write, review, and debug production code, prototype new features, and resolve incidents.
• Make architecture decisions that balance speed, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers, raise the bar for code quality, testing, security and observability.
• Collaborate with product, design, AI and other engineering teams to ship high‑quality products quickly.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience shipping production systems.
• Proven technical leadership on major engineering projects.
• Ability to explain complex technical decisions and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, ambiguous, globally distributed environment.
