Product Engineer - Optical Module

About the role

Cisco is looking for a Product Engineer for its optical module business in Thailand. The engineer works closely with the design engineering team on new product introduction and with key suppliers and contract manufacturers on sustaining engineering and cost reduction, to speed up time to market and revenue ramp of high bit rate optical coherent transceivers. The primary work location is Pathum Thani, Thailand, with some travel required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead yield improvement and drive product, process and quality improvements.
• Lead product debug and RMA activities and drive actions to closure.
• Support cost modelling and lead cost reduction activities with cross-functional teams.
• Perform and coordinate DFX activities with design, test and process engineering teams.
• Analyze and correlate performance of key parameters from device to sub-system level to optimize in-process and final test specifications.
• Create product troubleshooting guides.
• Lead failure analysis, root cause identification and corrective action for component, sub-system and field failures.
• Approve readiness for volume manufacturing.

Required profile

• BS degree in electrical engineering, physics or another relevant major.
• 5+ years of experience supporting design and NPI of high bit rate optical transponders.
• Very experienced in optical module production and process on QSFP-DD, OSFP, CFP2 and QSFP-112, etc.
• Familiar with 100G/200G/400G/800G/1.6T optical module specifications and test requirements.
• In-depth knowledge of analog and digital electronics, RF, and optical communication circuits and components.
• Ability to drive solutions through cross-functional teams and excellent English communication skills.
• Preferred: reliability engineering experience with telecom-class products.
