Project Design Manager – Mechanical (Buildings/Data Center)

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Project Design Manager to lead mechanical design for building and data‑center projects. You will be part of the Buildings business, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, high‑value projects from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of mechanical design projects, from initial concept to final review.
• Serve as the primary client contact for day‑to‑day project matters.
• Lead and coordinate a large, multi‑disciplinary design team covering mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, security, architectural and ICT disciplines.
• Produce detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, BIM models and design reports.
• Chair internal and external design meetings and manage project budgets, schedules, quality assurance and client feedback.
• Support workload management, resource forecasting and proposal preparation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale mechanical design projects in the building or data‑center sector.
• Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of construction and engineering project management principles.
