Site Safety Officer – Construction Projects

About the role

The Site Safety Officer will lead and oversee all health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) aspects of construction projects managed by Aurecon’s PMCM team in Thailand. Acting as the Owner’s Representative, you will ensure that contractors, consultants and all project participants comply with client HS&E requirements, Thai legislation and Aurecon’s global HS&E management system.

Key responsibilities

• Implement HS&E policies, plans and standards for all construction projects under the PMCM business line.
• Represent the Owner on HS&E matters at project sites, ensuring compliance with the Construction Safety Plan, Environmental Management Plan and legal requirements.
• Provide strategic guidance and technical advice on health, safety and environmental issues to project teams.
• Conduct site HS&E audits, inspections and risk assessments, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Review contractors’ HS&E plans, method statements, permits to work and incident reports for adequacy and compliance.
• Monitor and report HS&E performance, including leading and lagging indicators, incidents and near‑miss statistics.
• Support incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote a proactive HS&E culture through inductions, toolbox talks, training and mentorship of site engineers and project managers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HS&E on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of Thai Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act and related regulations.
• Ability to conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments.
• Experience coordinating with government agencies such as the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare.
• Excellent communication skills to advise project directors, contractors and consultants.
