About the role
The Human Resources Assistant will support the HR Section of OCHA’s Executive Office in Bangkok, reporting to a Human Resources Officer based in Geneva. The role involves a wide range of recruitment, entitlement administration, and staff development tasks within the United Nations humanitarian framework.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in recruitment and placement for all staff categories, including reference checks, medical clearance, travel and visa arrangements, salary calculations, and preparation of appointment offers via INSPIRA.
- Coordinate release and reporting of selected candidates with Geneva and other UN duty stations, and maintain vacancy announcement files.
- Process personnel actions and entitlements through the Umoja system, including dependency allowances, education grants, and mobility allowances.
- Support staff separation processes, initiate e‑Clearances, calculate termination entitlements, and conduct exit interviews.
- Provide visa advice to staff and maintain HR‑related automated databases and periodic reports.
- Assist in organizing and delivering training courses and workshops, and share training information with administrative counterparts.
Required profile
- Experience in HR administration within an international or UN environment.
- Familiarity with UN HR systems such as Umoja and INSPIRA.
- Ability to handle recruitment, entitlement processing, and staff separation procedures.
