Internship – Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment Communications

About the role

The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Section of ESCAP is seeking an intern to support communications on gender equality and women’s empowerment. The role involves creating and disseminating content across multiple platforms while gaining exposure to UN development work.

Key responsibilities

• Draft content for public information materials such as social media posts, website articles, news stories and blogs.
• Produce multimedia assets including infographics, presentation slides, event flyers, banners and short videos.
• Conduct research and compile information for reports and publications.
• Assist in organizing and convening events such as seminars, workshops and commemorations.
• Provide photography and video coverage when required.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme, or be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter.
• Ability to interact respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds and viewpoints.

Required skills

• Proficiency with graphic‑design and video‑editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
• Experience creating content for social‑media platforms and websites.
• Ability to produce infographics, presentation decks and short video clips.
