Project Researcher – Regulatory Forum Support

About the role

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) seeks a Project Researcher to support the delivery of the Asia Pacific Regulatory Forum and capacity‑building activities for ASEAN regulators. This consultant role will be based in Bangkok and will involve close interaction with stakeholders, partners and resource persons.

Key responsibilities

• Provide communication support for the Asia Pacific Regulatory Forum, including stakeholder liaison, preparation of memos, briefing notes and meeting agendas.
• Assist in organizing capacity‑building events for ASEAN regulators, handling similar communication and documentation tasks.
• Conduct research on key regulatory and energy‑system issues to inform forum discussions and capacity‑building modules.
• Develop communication products such as written content, infographics, posters and digital materials to raise the visibility of ESCAP activities.
• Undertake ad‑hoc assignments as requested by the project team.

Required profile

• Strong written communication skills and experience preparing briefing documents and agendas.
• Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and partners.
• Research experience in energy policy, regulatory frameworks or related fields.
• Proficiency in creating visual communication materials (e.g., infographics, posters).
