Communications and Digital Content Intern

About the role

The Environment and Development Division is seeking a Communications and Digital Content Intern for a 4‑6 month unpaid, full‑time placement (35 hours/week). The role can be performed onsite in Bangkok or remotely, subject to approval, and focuses on creating outreach material around urban climate‑resilience and environmental analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Produce on‑brand visual assets such as quote cards, slide decks and report layouts (≈30%).
• Create short video clips (30‑60 seconds) and social‑media content, integrating inclusive GEDSI messaging (≈30%).
• Organise and maintain photo and knowledge assets, ensuring accurate descriptions, captions and accessibility outputs (subtitles/VTT) (≈20%).
• Support outreach analytics, update project webpages and documentation under supervision (≈20%).

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme or the final year of a bachelor’s degree in communications, digital media, graphic design, journalism, marketing or related fields.
• Must meet United Nations Internship Programme eligibility criteria.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design and productivity tools such as PowerPoint, Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Portfolio demonstrating graphic design, short‑form video or digital content creation.
• Familiarity with social‑media content creation, basic analytics and web updating.
• Strong eye for brand consistency, layout and accessibility.
